Player Values
Rules
Rosters:

20 players minimum roster limit (starters + bench players). No max.

Starting lineup consists of: 5 SP, 3 OF, 1 1B, 2B, 3B, SS, C, RP

Points are only earned by starters. Players not starting are designated as bench players.

$42,000 salary cap. (all players count towards cap)
Players not found on Website have value of $1500.
Pickups, Trades, Roster Moves:
'Ghost' players can be drafted or picked up for $1000.
Ghost players do NOT require spending a pickup.
These 'ghost' players are there to satisfy the 20 minimum player requirement, without having to find a garbage $1000 player.
So, for example, if you were to drop two $2000 players, you can use ONE pickup to get a $3000 player, and a $1000 ghost player to fill out your roster.
*30 roster moves. A roster move involves moving a player from the bench into the starting lineup. No roster move is required to demote a player from a starting position to the bench.
*12 free agent pickups. A pickup places the player onto the bench, NOT into the starting lineup. A separate roster move is needed to promote the player to a starter.
All players involved in a trade end up on the teams bench. Again, a separate roster move is needed to move a player into the starting lineup. (this is to make the automatic transation system easier to implement)
Starting lineups can only be changed at the beginning of each week (deadline is midnight PST, Sunday)

A player may only be traded once a week. (simplifies trading system) As a consequece no 3-way deals are allowed. Any traded player must wait 1 week, before being traded again.

Trades are limited between two teams but may involve uneven number of players (2 for 3 players are possible). Also, 1-0 trades are valid as part of a 'player to be named later' or delayed 3-way trade.
Trade deadline, 9/1/2008.
No trading pickups or roster moves. (simplifies trading system)
No full pickups.
No full point trades
No 'position-for-position' restrictions on trades. A pitcher can be traded for a postion player.
Unlimited number of trades.
Unlimited number of drops, but minimum roster limit must be met at the
beginning of each week.
